Kucel Contractors, Inc. is centrally located at 726 State Highway 349, on the outskirts of Gloversville, Mayfield, and Broadalbin, NY on the southern tip of the Adirondack mountains and only a short drive from their 45-mile radius that they generally work out of. Stan Kucel Sr., a long time recognized area homebuilder and reputable family business owner maintained Kucel Contractors for four decades and although he remained relatively small the business grew large in terms of character for quality and reliability. Being a family run business it was not unusual to find young Stan Kucel working and learning from his father starting at the tender age of 10. Stan learned much from his father. He learned two very important attributes for the business that have remained ever since. The first was what his father "drilled" into him that quality and service are of utmost importance. No matter what it takes, that they would do the job right and stand behind their work. They believe that when they walk away from a job that they should feel proud of what has been accomplished.

The second factor came with the second generation: This would be Stan Kucel today. He learned a lot from his father's business and yearned for the challenge and responsibility that comes with running one's own business. He returned working for his father for a decade. After a decade of working together, Stan Kucel Sr. retired and his son Stan became sole owner.

Stan took over his father's business in 1986 and brought with that, diversification. For decades Kucels' was known for custom residential building and remodeling but Stan sought to branch out by obtaining more work in the commercial sector by becoming a dealer/builder for the widely known Star Steel Building System of pre-engineered metal buildings. This diversification began the realization that additional divisions were needed to maintain the quality of work and service that carries on today through Kucels. New divisions were added to the business base. These are the concrete, commercial, steel and the design/build sectors. By the year 2004 the Kucel company had completed over 180 jobs in the steel, residential, commercial and concrete divisions.
